About the Author - Silindile Nkuna
Silindile Nkuna is a South African author, financial professional, and initiated Sangoma. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Management and is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Risk Management at the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA). Her career spans roles in the corporate sector, where she has built a reputation for diligence, precision, and service excellence.
Silindile’s spiritual journey began in 2017, after the passing of her father a turning point that awakened her to vivid dreams and visions she initially struggled to understand. Growing up in a Christian household, she faced the difficulty of reconciling her faith with the ancestral callings that revealed themselves to her. Through years of research, prayer, and self-discovery, she gradually came to embrace her spiritual path.
In 2023, she underwent initiation as a Sangoma, completing her journey of acceptance and alignment with her ancestral heritage. This transformation has shaped her life’s purpose: to bridge the gap between African spirituality and communities where it has often been misunderstood or demonized.
Her debut book, Whispers in the Night: African Dreams and Their Meaning (2025), was written to guide and encourage others who, like her, are navigating the complexities of faith, culture, and identity. Through her writing, Silindile seeks to restore dignity to African spirituality, demystify ancestral wisdom, and empower others to embrace the fullness of who they are.
